Networking Strategies

All of us understand unconsciously, if not consciously, that our success depends on how well we communicate, sell, motivate, inspire, manage, and treat others. What many people

do not understand is the work it takes to create this type of clarity so that it can be communicated effectively.

In this section you will learn how to build a business by doing what you love to do. People will never buy a product or service from you; they will, however, buy an outcome. They will buy into the passion, conviction, and belief you have about your product and service. You need to understand your Unique Value Proposition (UVP). Once you understand it, you can communicate it to others as well. Your UVP is the one thing that differentiates you from your competitors. It is the value you provide.

How do you develop this UVP? You can use the Small Business Marketing Mastery Advisory Board (SBMMAB) to help you figure this out. Multiple minds and multiple experiences are far more effective and efficient than any single mind or experience in helping you understand the value of your product or service. So by tapping into the experiences and opinions of others, you receive valuable, objective feedback that can help you clarify your message and how it will be received.

After you clarify your UVP and have tested it in your SBMMAB, you are ready to rock and roll. The best way to encourage new business is to enlist others to help you. One of the best approaches is developing a referral process. A referral process is designed to usher you directly into the decision maker’s office. The reason referrals work, if executed correctly, is that the person making the referral is passing along his relationship with his client (friend, family, etc.) to you. If this does not shorten the sales process, nothing will. The key is getting referrals from others who understand how to do this effectively.

In this section you will learn the importance of creating a UVP and how to use an advisory board to help you create one, then use this information to close more business.
